Cars and Coffee - March 26th, 2011

A decent turnout despite the cool temps! A little bit of sunshine worked its way on to the nice polished row of cars. Did everyone catch the 1929 Bentley?

As always the coffee shop was full with our good crowd of usual as well as new friends to share with us in great coffee and food on a Saturday morning.

Thanks everyone for coming out, and let's look forward to warmer weather for the weeks ahead

Why Illy Espresso?

When owner Mike Kearney made a decision to bring the best Espresso to Great Falls Village, his first and final inclination was Illy.

Illy has a distinct yet consistent flavor profile. Like a glass of wine, the espresso has many character notes. Tastes of chocolate, and caramel, along with a balance of sweet, bitter, and smokey. Our espresso produces a great line of "crema" which enables some of the characteristic art work that we have been mastering lately; just check out some Elizabeth's famous shots!

Illy is also an exemplary company in sustainability. Illy works directly with farmers in places like Africa, Central America, Brazil and India, to ensure market value, quality, consistency, and environmental safeguards. For more information about sustainability, visit Illy's site: http://www.illy.com/wps/wcm/connect/us/illy/about-illy/sustainability/

At Katie's Coffee House, we produce a great array of caffe lattes and drinks, from a pure original like a dopio espresso to a Beso De Kiri. We take great pride and place emphasis on fresh ground beans, quality extraction, distinct aroma, and consistent taste.

Cheers,
from the Katie's Coffee House Baristas

Did you know?

...America had its first coffeehouse in Boston, in 1676?

Coffee, tea and beer were often served together in establishments which functioned both as coffeehouses and taverns; one such was the Green Dragon in Boston, where John Adams, James Otis and Paul Revere planned rebellion.

Katie's Coffee House brings together the best of the old traditions with new ones. In conjunction with the Old Brogue Irish Pub, Katie's Coffee House is a great place to enjoy an espresso while assembling with the best people in the Great Falls community.

Please note that at this time, there are no active discussions on planned rebellions...

Hellloooo from Hawaii!!

Even here in Hawaii I miss steaming cappuccinos! I miss my wonderful co workers and customers! I love my job and can't wait o get back and ask if you need room for cream in that?!!! Xox Kiri

Ya know it really shows..

that you trust your barista when you ask them to make you WHATEVER they want! We have so many flavors at Katie's and most of them go unused. Next time you come in you should just ask for a "Dealer's Choice" latte. Some of the combinations that we come up with for ourselves are really fun, different and most importantly DELICIOUS! Have a little adventure in your morning! They say that changing up your routine can help you keep your brain super sharp. Have some fun with flavors!!
